

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Aurora A. Duron, a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. Born on May 10,1935 in Douglas, Arizona.
Aurora was a steadfast pillar of her family, dedicating her life to nurturing and supporting her loved ones. She took immense pride in her children’s accomplishments, celebrating every milestone with heartfelt enthusiasm as demonstrated by the photos, trophy cases and certificates proudly displayed throughout her home. Her house was often filled with the aroma of her Mexican cornbread baking in the oven to be shared with all who happened to cross her threshold.
Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family, community and to her faith in God. She served as a Eucharistic Minister and Catechism teacher for St Lukes Catholic Parish in Douglas. Due to her commitment, she was elevated to the role of Catechetical Director within the parish. The family moved to Tucson in 1990, and she continued her dedication to her faith and calling at St Francis de Sales Catholic Parish.
She is preceded in death by Father: Rosario Alvarez, Mother: Matilde Escarcega Alvarez, Husband: Rafael Acosta Duron, Sister: Alicia Alvarez, Grandson: Nicky Ramirez and is survived by Daughters, Lydia Duron-Kari (Charles), Diana Marella (Paul), Sons: Rafael Duron Jr (Marsha passed), David Duron (Carol), Daniel Duron (Isela), Hector Duron (Roberta). Grandchildren: Leana Ramirez (Wesley), Joshua Hilling, Maria Hilling, Tanya Duron, Amanda Duron, David Duron, Noelle Lievanos, Jennifer Duron (Anissa), Caitlyn Duron, Michael Barnes, Dominic Marella, Sean Marella, Great Grandsons: Alejandro Andres Robles, Nyjah Todd, Sisters: Angelita Alvarado, Adelina Rhinehart (Paul), Armida Robles, Mary Grijalva (Jack), beloved godchildren, nieces and nephews.
Aurora’s legacy lives on in the hearts of her family, who will forever cherish the countless memories of her love and guidance.
A service honoring Aurora’s life will be held on, starting with the viewing and Rosary at East Lawns Palm Mortuary and Cemetery Thursday December 19th, 6:00 pm-9:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St Francis de Sales Catholic Church on December 20th at 10:00am, with burial to follow at East Lawn Palms Cemetery. Celebration of life and reception will follow burial at East Lawn Palms Mortuary. Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating the incredible life she led and the enduring impact she made on all who knew her.
Aurora’s light may have dimmed in this world, but it shines brightly in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.
