It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Beulah M. Contreras—a cherished mother, grandmother, and beacon of strength. Beulah was called to her heavenly home on March 16, 2026, at the age of 89.
Born on May 20, 1936, in Winkleman, Arizona, Beulah was raised in Tucson, where she attended St. John’s Catholic School and was proud to be among the first graduating classes of Pueblo High School.
She was reunited in eternity with her devoted husband, Alfredo S. Contreras, and her brother, Alfred Ortiz. Her legacy of love continues through her children: John Christopher Contreras (Reina), Sylvia Braunwalder (Bernard), Sandra Dragotto (Dennis), and Alfred Contreras (Elizabeth); her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her beloved grandchildren, Marbella Azul and John Edward Contreras.
Beulah possessed a remarkably generous spirit and a deep passion for fostering children, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of many young people she welcomed into her heart and home.
A vibrant soul who loved to dance, she also dedicated many years of service to Hughes Aircraft until her well-deserved retirement.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Banner UMC Hospital and Park Avenue Rehabilitation Center for their compassionate care during her final days.
A celebration of Beulah’s life will be held on April 8, 2026, at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church (8650 N. Shannon Rd., Tucson, AZ 85742). A viewing will begin at 10:00 am, followed by a Rosary at 10:30 am and a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Holy Hope Cemetery, with a reception to celebrate her memory immediately afterward.
May she rest in eternal peace, embraced by the love she so freely gave.
