She was born to Patricia Martinez and Edmund Marquez(Mandy Marquez) on June 12th, 1990, in Tucson, AZ. She was the eldest sibling of 6, Micheal Marquez, Christian Marquez, Madison Marquez, Alex Marquez, and Mykaela Cowan. She was Papá to Isaiah Martinez. She also leaves behind her Great Grandparents, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and many friends.
This her obituary will not be the usual glorification of the deceased you would normally read.
Brittany was a human being with many flaws. She wasn’t perfect. Her actions and/or reactions weren’t always the most appropriate ones. She suffered a greatly throughout her life, especially with her addiction. A disease that ruled over her choices for the last 7-8 years. She has been judged, humiliated, and even pitied upon. She did many things to those closest to her, in order to feed this disease. Regardless of being an addict, all are deserving of being loved. She was ours and She was loved. We didn’t always see eye to eye. We also didn’t understand why she just couldn’t get her life back together. Especially, since that was what she wanted most for herself. Yes, we suffered because of her lifestyle, but she suffered the most because of her need.
Her addiction isn’t what defined her though.
“B” was a noble soul.
She was humble.
She valued and protected her family.
She always stood up for what she believed in.
She had this beautiful smile that could light up the darkest of rooms.
Her sense of humor and sarcasm were unmatched.
She could listen to a song once and could rap or sing it as if she’d known it all her life. Let’s not forget her “lit” dance moves.
She most definitely had a slick tongue. She could persuade her way into or out of any situation. She would argue her point so well that you would end up confused and just give in.
She made friends so easily. I believe it was because she was never embarrassed to meet and speak to anyone. She could hold a conversation with not only the younger generation in street slang, but could hold her own in more intellectual of subjects too.
She was always respectful of her elders. Very gentleman like. For example, opening doors, minding her manners.
If ever disrespected she could definitely hold her own.
She was definitely a smooth, sweet talking, Mac daddy with the ladies. (I know she’d definitely want me to include this for street cred)
In case not everyone knows why she would introduce herself as “B”, it was because Brittany was way to girlie for the kind of man she was. Her call sign was BR3AL (be real), she wrote that on everything. She loved it, because she was always brutally honest by keeping it real, and she expected that from anyone she allowed into her life.
So in the words of “B”, “seriously, cool yo shit guys and just BR3AL!” As well as “ You Happy or Sad panda? Don’t be Sad Panda be Happy Panda! Yes?”
With all my love,
Tia Lily
