With broken hearts, we share the loss of Brock Christopher Jackson, who passed away far too soon on May 3, 2025, at the age of 22, following a tragic motorcycle accident in Tucson, Arizona. Born and raised in Tucson, Brock was a vibrant soul with a magnetic presence—fiercely loyal, full of energy, and deeply loving. He was the kind of person who made people feel seen, known, and valued. While he had a large personality and presence, he always found a way to seek out the quiet people in any group and make them feel special and included. Whether he was spending time with family, lifting weights, shooting hoops, or riding his motorcycle, Brock lived with intensity and purpose.
A proud graduate of Sabino High School, Brock was a standout athlete and a force on the basketball court. Wearing jersey #33—just like his Grandpa Dover—he led the Sabercats with heart, earning regional and state honors during the 2020–2021 season. He wasn’t just a gifted player, he was a passionate teammate and leader, known for his hustle and dedication to the team.
Brock went on to study Kinesiology at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff before returning to Tucson last summer. He joined the Verizon team, where his natural charisma and work ethic quickly made him one of their top salesmen.
Brock's life was rooted in connection—family, friends, teammates, and community. He was a protector, a goofball, a deep thinker, and a gentle soul. His loss leaves a space no one else can fill, but his memory will continue to guide and inspire those who knew him.
He is survived by his loving mother and stepfather, Nikki and Jeffrey Pochily; his father Jason Jackson (and wife, Davina); and stepmother, Maira J. Smith (and husband, Esteban); and his siblings Kenedy Agurcia (and husband Jason, and their “soon-to-be” baby girl expected this November), Emerson Pochily, Elliott Pochily, and Jacob Jackson. He is also lovingly remembered by Ava Barker, the daughter of Jason’s wife Davina Jackson. Brock also leaves behind his cat, Onyx and his dog, Brutus.
A memorial service will be held on May 17 at 11:00 a.m. at 9541 E Snyder Rd, Tucson, AZ 85749. Brock will then be laid to rest in a private family ceremony at East Lawn Cemetery, where he will rest alongside his beloved Nana and Grandpa. A reception celebrating Brock’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. at a location to be announced during the memorial service. All are welcome to attend both the memorial service and reception.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the APEX Scholarship Foundation, a cause dear to Brock’s heart. Brock’s dream was that every child who wanted to play basketball could—regardless of their financial ability. The foundation helps make that possible by supporting young athletes with access to the game he loved.
