

Burton Arthur Struthers, born in Butte, Montana moved to Tucson, Arizona at a young age. He attended the University of Arizona on a ROTC scholarship. Burton served in the United States Air Force for 2 years before becoming a civil engineer working at Southern Pacific Railroad. He met and married Lois Edith Kruse and had three children, 7 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. He changed careers in midlife to become a stockbroker where he had a successful career and was involved in many organizations such as Tucson Rotary, Old Pueblo Club,Trustee at Trinity Presbyterian Church, YMCA, and Garden Club.
Burton loved his family and was extremely proud of all their accomplishments. He had a passion for gardening and his wish was to enjoy his home and yard for as long as he could. He loved his animals, especially his five golden retrievers, who brought him endless joy and companionship. Raised in poverty with a disabled father and a loving mother, he learned the early importance of hard work, perseverance, and education, using those values to achieve the American Dream.
He is preceded in death by his wife Lois Edith Struthers.
He is survived by his children Lynn Struthers Peate, William Burton Struthers, Lori Struthers Goebel, and many other loved ones.
