

Carmen was born on March 25, 1935 in Ruby Arizona to Rosa Soto Rivera and Manuel Rivera. She grew up in Ruby, Washington Camp and Harshaw Arizona which are old mining towns in southern Arizona and graduated from Patagonia High School. Carmen lived a full and vibrant life marked by love, family, and a special connection to those around her. She was a great, devoted and loving mother, wife, grandmother and great-grandmother to all her children and grandchildren. She was a lady of much faith and dedication to her church Saint Monica’s Catholic Church where she belonged to the Guadalupanas and sang with the Spanish mass choir group for many years. Carmen was known for and requested to pray the rosary for many novenas over the years. She was also like the family doctor where all members of the family would come to her for her old family remedies.
Carmen is survived by her children Arturo (Olga) Norzagaray, Toribio “Toby” Norzagaray, Frank “Pancho” Norzagaray, Guadalupe “Lupita” Raymond and Enrique (Arcelia) Velasquez along with 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Sister Luz Granillo and brother Frank “Pancho” Rivera.
Carmen is preceded in death by her husband Toribio Norzagaray, daughter Ana Maria Norzagaray and grandson Arturo (Artie) Norzagaray. Parents Rosa and Manuel Rivera, sister Refugio “Cuca” Borboa, brothers Ramon, Mariano, Manuel and Silverio Rivera
