August 24, 1950 – January 12, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Cecil Edward Bramlett Jr., a devoted father and a faithful Christian, who left us on January 12, 2025, at the age of 74. Cecil was a cherished family member and a friend to many, whose presence and spirit will be sorely missed.
Born on August 24, 1950, in Belzoni, MS, Cecil grew up with a fervent passion for music and lending a hand to others in need. Married his wife, Diana, on October 16, 1972. His first child Molly was born on January 28, 1975. His second child Zachary was born on May 4, 1993. He started his own video store business called Hometown Video, where he forged lifelong friendships. He moved from Mississippi to Arizona in 2007 to be closer to his 4 grandchildren that he and Diana cherished so much.
Volunteered for the Marines on June 26, 1969, and served in Vietnam as a Radio Telegraph Operator receiving multiple honors, which include:
National Defense Service Medal,
Vietnam Service Medal with 1 star,
Vietnam Campaign Medal,
Meritorious Unit Citation with Palm for Distinguished Service,
and Expert Shooting Badge for achieving the highest level of proficiency surpassing both Marksman and Sharpshooter.
Cecil was known for his unwavering kindness, boundless generosity, and steadfast support to those around him. His love and dedication for family was truly inspiring. His faith in the Lord was found later in life at the age of 64, although from that point forth it guided his actions and provided strength through all circumstances.
Throughout his life, Cecil touched numerous lives with his warmth and compassion. After Hometown Video closed in the late 1990s, many still recall him and share stories of how great a man he was even to this day. He also flew clear across the country from MS to CA to bring his nephew under his roof and to a loving home.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, (Cecil Edward Bramlett Sr and Mildred Louise Britt Bramlett) and wife, (Diana Bramlett), who he will meet again in Heaven, and is survived by siblings (Terry Bramlett and Elizabeth Carmen), children (Molly Burt & Zachary Bramlett), grandchildren (Johnathan, Katheryn, Joseph, & Sarah Burt), who loved him very much and Cecil will be waiting for them in them in heaven.
A celebration of Cecil’s life will be held on February 1st at East Lawn Palms Mortuary, where friends and family will gather to honor his legacy and share cherished memories. Visitation will be from 12:30pm-1:30pm, with the celebration of life to follow at 1:30pm. Cecil’s light will continue to shine through the memories he created and the lives he impacted. His legacy of love, faith, and kindness will never be forgotten.
Cecil, enjoy the pleasures of heaven. You will be dearly missed and forever remembered till we meet again.
