Cecilia Olivas Rios

Cecilia ”Cecy” O. Rios, 75, courageously taken by Cancer on December 11th 2019. She was born to the dearly loved and forever missed, Modesto and Benigna Olivas on August 4th, 1944, and was the baby of 10 siblings, 7 of which preceded her in death (listed as) Josephine Guillen(John), Jerry Olivas(Hein), Ray “Chorizo” Olivas(Bertha), Helen Gonzales, Connie Rubio and Modesto Olivas Jr.

Cecilia was valued and appreciated by many friends and family who describe her as being an Angel, the best person they ever knew, my best friend, funny, strong willed, the best cook ever, giving, willing to help most, and easy to get along with.

Cecilia was also preceded in death by her husband Humberto Rios. She is survived by her three children David Rios(Rosie), Laurie (Rios) Degerstrom(Mark), Bianca Wade also by her three grandchildren Manuel “Manny” Wade, Malainie Arratia and Antonio McLaughlin. Also survived by her three siblings Nellie Pineda, Alice Palacio and Jesus Antonio Olivas and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Forever in our hearts, Mrs. Cecilia Rios, will be extremely missed.

A visitation for Cecilia will be held Sunday, December 22, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria del Angel University, 7 East University Blvd, Tucson, AZ 85705. A rosary service will occur Sunday, December 22, 2019 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 7 East University Blvd, Tucson, AZ 85705. A funeral service will occur Monday, December 23, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, 1800 S Kolb Road, Tucson, AZ 85710.
