

Charles was 12 years old when he and his family moved from Texas to Globe, Arizona. At twenty, he became employed at Pinto Valley Mine in Miami, Arizona and worked for the mine for 18 years.
Charles moved to Tucson in the late 1980’s. He attended ABC Technical School and earned his Master Welder certification along with certification in pipe welding.
His employers in Tucson included American Fence Company, Brown and White Company, San Xavier Sand and Gravel, and Barnett-Shore.
Charles was a great cook. He enjoyed listening to music and loved the Denver Broncos. He took so much pride in owning his red truck and keeping it spotless. Charles had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh.
He loved animals and once rescued a kitten from one of his job sites when a co-worker threatened to harm it. He brought the kitten home to his daughter Bianca. He also saved a kitten from drowning trapped in a water pipe.
He is survived by his daughters, Georgetta Pless, and Bianca Lane Baker, his siblings Mary, Shirley, Nola, Margaret, Hellen, Patricia, Leeola, Jimmy and Robert. He is also remembered fondly by his many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In his last days he endured much pain. He is now at peace and his suffering has ended.
