Charles W. Spears, Sr. Cowboy, Trucker, Plasterer, Businessman, Father, Grandfather and above all Christian, went to be with his Lord and Savior December 14, 2013. Always proud to be a native Arizonan, he was born March 29, 1919 at Peach Springs, AZ on the Hulapai Indian Reservation to James C. Spears and Genery (Orgain) Spears. He served in the European theatre in the US Army Air Corp during WWII, seeing action from the invasion through the Battle of the Bulge. After the war, he came home to Tucson to build, with his own hands, the house he would call home. He made a living in various ways throughout the years and all who knew him, knew that his word and his handshake were better than any written contract. His passions were serving the Lord as an ordained deacon, spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, camping and having the grandkids and great-grandchildren play around him. His wife of 31 years, Lou Ella (Wolfe) Spears preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, who he was able to enjoy his final 31 years with, Eleanor (Roberts) Spears; his three boys, Charles W. "Walt" Spears, Jr. (Roberta), William "Bill" D. Spears (Lou) and Hercel E. Spears (Paula); six grandchildren, Steven, Cindy, Ben, JD, Christina and Danielle; nine great-grandchildren and three stepsons, Gary Beers, Pat Beers and Jeff Beers. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 20, 2013 from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. with a 2:00 p.m. Service at FUNERARIA DEL ANGEL SOUTH LAWN. Interment to follow at South Lawn Cemetery.
