On June 27, 1971, in the borough of the Bronx in New York City, Christopher Frederick Falgiano was the First born to his proud parents, Liane and Fred Falgiano. Although they moved to San Diego in 1973 Chris always was proud to say he was from the Bronx and a life long NY Yankee fan. He was survived by his parents Liane and Fred Falgiano, his Brother Anthony Falgiano and wife Hillary and children Michael, Isabella, and Olivia and his Sister Nicole Shows and husband Rick and children Abigail and Brock. Chris loved his nieces and nephews and they adored him as well. Chris was also the Godfather of Abigail who was the First born and as a result he had an even more special bond with her. In addition, he was the nephew of Joanne (Falgiano) Mezzone, who was also his Godmother and husband Joe of Stormville NY, Carol (Falgiano) McTiernan and husband Vinnie of Bronxville NY and Debra (Geml) Gardner and husband Rusty of Kansas City Kansas. His cousins all new Chris as the “Dude”. They included Joanne and Joe’s children Christina and Mark, Carol and Vinnie’s children Christopher and Kevin, and Debra and Rusty’s children Weston, Calleigh and Carson. Chris’s also loved his Great Aunt (Tante) Welda Selzer who resides in San Diego, California and her children and Chris’ second cousins Michael, Linda and Lisa Selzer.
Chris went to Bloom Elementary, Our Mother of Sorrows and then went on to Sahuaro High School where he graduated and along the way made countless friends. He had many different jobs and sometimes multiple jobs and was driven to make his mark. Chris had many friends and those of you who were his friend know how we would reach out to help anyone in need. Once he found Graybar he found his niche and loved the job and the people there and they loved him as well. He was always driven with an amazing work ethic. Chris loved music and the movies and if you caught him at just the right time he would quote you funny lines from many of them as well. But most of all his great sense of humor and laughter touched so many lives.
We have received countless notes and postings on Facebook from so many people who loved him and there is such a void and silence with him being gone but it is his physical being we will miss. It is now his time with the help of the Good Lord to give us all the strength to get through these times.
Besides all the family who are grieving with the rest of us his Goddaughter Abigail was the closest to him. He was so proud of all of his nieces and nephews but he and Abby went on this journey to teach her to drive and the culmination of it all was that she got her license and it was a special accomplishment for the two of them and a bond that would never be broken. The most significant moment came on August 28th when he presented Abby the keys to his car as a birthday gift and in his unique fashion was so proud and a little bit misty.
So now we must all remember the good times and know he is watching over us all and guaranteed that there is lots of smiling above as the “Dude Abides”.
Memorial services will be held at the East Lawn Mortuary on Sunday October 4th at 10:00 AM . In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Phoenix Children’s Hospital or St Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis Tn.
