Christopher James Moon

Specialist Christopher Moon 20, of HHC's Scout Platoon, 2nd Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team of the Army's 82nd Airborne Division based in Fort Bragg, N.C. , went home to be with the Lord on July 13, 2010 at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany. He was born, August 3, 1989 to Marsha and Brian of Tucson, Arizona. Preceded in death by paternal grandmother; Charmaine Moon. Survived by his parents, and sister, Sunday Moon; niece, Semira Moon; grandparents, Harry and Loretta Begay, Jim and Linda Moon; aunts, Bert Begay, Chucki Begay, Sharon Singer, Jamie Moon, and Michele (Joe) Petruska; uncles, Wes Begay, Kenneth Hogner, Harrison Begay, and Chuck (Kim) Moon, and many cousins and relatives. Chris was an exceptional person who liked challenges and who always faced them with a positive attitude, whether it was playing with friends, doing things with family, going to school, playing baseball or other sports, and serving in the military. Chris accepted Christ as a young boy and understood the meaning of putting his trust in God which displayed his willingness to believe in something bigger than himself. Chris will be missed by the many people he has impacted throughout his life. We thank you Chris for being a wonderful son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. You will always be remembered of your courageous and selfless actions and will always be OUR HERO. Funeral Service will be held at Christ Community Church, 7801 E. Kenyon Dr., Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at East Lawn Palms Cemetery. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.
