Clara J. Hill

Clara Jane Hill, 89 was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus Christ March 3, 2013. Beloved wife, mother and friend, she was an excellent cook, gardener, seamstress and Bible teacher. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband William Warren Hill in 1988 and her brothers, Chester, Gene and Gordon Dods. She was born in Kansas City, MO December 7, 1923 to John and Edna Dods. She was the granddaughter of immigrants from Scotland and Germany. She graduated from North East High School and attended one year of Junior College. She was known for her sweet spirit and willingness to help others and shown by the many ways she volunteered her time and her heart by cheering up soldiers at a USO during WW II, leading girl scouts for six years, and tutoring with Laubach Literacy for 6 years. She was an intelligent, avid reader and enjoyed many travels to Europe. She is survived by her sister Dorothy Vagnino of Visalia, CA, her four children Karen Kotecha, Deborah Csere, Susan Weld and William Scott Hill, grandchildren Jenny Carleo, Christopher Kotecha, Dr. Anne Csere, Dr. Laura Csere, Eric Hill and Adam Hill and great grandson John Carleo. Dr. Chet Weld will conduct services Saturday March 9 at 4pm. at Eastlawn Palms.
