Dorand Lavergne

Born In Woonsocket Rhode Island on May 25,1936

It is with great sorrow that we announce that Dorand Lavergne passed away on January 16, 2023 in Tucson, AZ. We find comfort that he left this world peacefully and surrounded by his family.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Susan H Dilday. He is survived by his wife Rita Lavergne; son Gary Lavergne (Marlene); daughter Louise Lavergne. Grandchildren Brandi Dilday(Chris Jech) and Lisa Lavergne. Great grandchild Charlie Jech.

Dorand was a 20 year veteran in the US Air Force and retired here in Tucson in 1971 with his wife and 3 children. After retirement he went to work at Hughes Aircraft until he became disabled in 1982. Dorand loved to build and fly radio control airplanes, dabbled in wood working but the biggest joy in his life was restoring a 1960 Mini Cooper. He loved to drive it around town and would enter the car in various car shows throughout town.

“We'll always remember that special smile, that caring heart, that warm embrace you always gave us. We'll always remember you being there for Mom and us through good and bad times no matter what. We'll always remember you, Dad, because there'll never be anyone to replace you in our hearts and the love we will always have for you."

Memorial service will be held in the nature garden at East Lawn Cemetery on March 3, 2023 @ 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider donating to The Wounded Warrior Project.

A special thanks to Dr. Mariali Garcia for her kindness and compassion in taking care of Dorand all those years.

Dorand (Dad, Pepe) we will all miss you down here on Earth, but we know you and Susan are smiling down at us and watching over us from Heaven. We all Love you very much!
