Edith was born to Earl and Bessie Pike on September 13, 1926. She was the youngest of seven children growing up on a small farm in Kirtland, Ohio, in the post-depression era.
Edith married Ernest McClintock on March 20, 1949. They enjoyed forty-nine wonderful years before Ernest’s passing in 1998. Edith’s hobbies included playing the piano, organ, or harp for church services and gardening. Edith’s faith was a vital part of her life to the very end:
There are no Tears in Heaven,
Nor Grief of any kind
I leave this Final teardrop
To those I’ve left behind
Though Absent from the body
I’m present with the Lord
The Joy of My Salvation
Is now my Full Reward.
Those left to cherish Edith’s memories include her twin daughters, Karol McClintock of Tucson, AZ, and Karen McClintock of Tucson, Paul McClintock (Kristi) of Greer, SC, Tim McClintock of Tucson, and a close friend of the family, Rosealee Karubos of Tucson. Edith’s surviving grandchildren include Nathan McClintock (Emily), Daniel McClintock, David McClintock, and Leyla Harris. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at 2:45 PM at East Lawn Palms Mortuary, 5801 East Grant Rd., Tucson, AZ.
