March 29, 1931 – December 3, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Elisa Duenas Bracamonte, who left us peacefully on December 3, 2025, at the age of 94. Elisa was a woman of deep faith, boundless love, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends.
Born in Bisbee, Arizona, on March 29, 1931, Elisa was the cherished daughter of Isabella and Manuel Duenas. She graduated from high school in 1950 and married the love of her life, Raymundo Bracamonte, just two days after graduation. Their love story began at a high school football game in Bisbee in 1949, and together they built a beautiful life filled with family, laughter, and devotion.
Elisa and Raymundo were blessed with seven children: Ray (Peggy), Sylvia (Manuel), Richard (Maria), Robert (Angela), Alfred (Theresa), George (Tina), and Mary (Louie). Elisa was preceded in death by her beloved husband Raymundo; her daughter Sylvia; her sister Virginia; and her brothers Frank, Joe, and Manny.
She is survived by her loving sisters Josephine and Amelia, as well as 14 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild — all of whom were the pride and joy of her life.
Known affectionately as “Nana B” or “Mrs. B, the Tortilla Lady,” Elisa was renowned for her delicious homemade cooking and her gift for bringing people together. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, always warm, welcoming, and filled with the smell of fresh tortillas. She loved cooking for everyone and never hesitated to offer her honest opinion — something her family will always remember with a smile.
Elisa had a passion for gardening, especially her beautiful roses that bloomed brightly throughout her yard. Her strong Catholic faith guided her life and shaped the loving, generous, and compassionate woman she was. A born leader, Elisa overcame poverty and hardship with courage and grace, always extending a helping hand to those in need.
She provided love, support, guidance, encouragement, and hope to many. Her sweet smile, hearty laugh, and loving heart touched everyone she met. Elisa was the anchor, the hero, and the guiding light of her family — a woman whose legacy will continue through the love, kindness, joy, generosity, compassion, and faith she shared with the world.
