Elizabeth Urwin Fritz

Elizabeth Jean Urwin Fritz slept away peacefully June 13, 2013 at Highland Hills Adult Home Care. Elizabeth was born January 1, 1926 to Thomas Urwin and Louise Reiel Urwin at Palm Beach, Florida. In 1932 they moved to Tucson, AZ. During high school Betty started to work for Southern Pacific Railroad as a messenger and yard clerk. She continued to work for the railroad during her college years at the University of Arizona. She graduated with a degree in BPA in Business and Public Administration. After graduation she worked as a personnel clerk for Grand Central. She then worked as a CPA in the sheriff's office for four years followed by a job in the Pima County Sheriff's Department as a P.C. Elizabeth was appointed to Superior court as a Court room Deputy as well as Clerk of the Appellate Court for 35 years, retiring in 1986. Elizabeth married Robert Julius Fritz April 25, 1970. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, Percy Jones; husband, Robert Julius Fritz; brothers-in-law, Harold Kennedy and Larry Hodges. She was a member of Grace St. Paul Episcopal Church her whole life. Her pets and animals were her priorities. Betty and Robert were members of the motorcycle club Crowns. They loved to bike over the United States with special trips to Canada, Mexico, Great Britain and Europe. Elizabeth was a member of the International Sorority Beta Sigma Phi for 60 years. She was in Tau Master Chapter. She is survived by Uncle and Aunt, Dale and Tommie Surritte, West Plains, MO; cousins, Ralph and Janet Simon, Corning, NY. Eugene Woods, Washington; sisters-in-law, Lorita Kennedy, Marana; Carol Hodges, Tucson and extended families. In lieu of flowers donations should go to Torch Ball Foundation c/o Liz Miller, 9835 E. Mary Dr., Tucson, AZ 85730. It goes to St. Elizabeth of Hungary Health Center for Cancer Detection, The Beta Sigma Phi Charity. Special thanks to Odyssey Hospice. Memorial Service, followed by a luncheon, will be held at Grace St. Paul Episcopal Church, 2331 E. Adams, at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 22, 2013.
