Eric Martin Shipway

Eric Martin Shipway (Rick) 52 years of age from Tucson, Arizona passed away surrounded by loved ones on October 7, 2013 at Tucson Medical Center due to medical complications following emergency surgery. Eric was born in Tucson, AZ on February 11, 1961 at TMC to Eugene & Larraine Shipway. Eric had many hobbies: photography, cinema, music, & technology, but none more loved than cars and racing. While attending Saguaro High School (graduated 1980), Eric fell in love with muscle cars, drag racing & classic rock. As a young man you could often find Eric with friends working on cars and driving around the streets of Tucson on the weekends. Eric worked in electronic assembly out of high school and later in life he joined his family’s I.T. business where he was beloved by his colleagues. Eric will always be remembered by his friends and loved ones for his infectious laugh, keen wit, fighting spirit and wisdom. He will be missed by all. Eric was preceded to glory by his father & mother and is survived by his brothers John (Shahin), James (Suzanne), & Thomas (Julie); Nephews & Niece Aaron, Ian, Michael & Stephanie Shipway. A viewing will be held on 10/13/2013 from 1 PM to 5 PM followed by a memorial service on 10/14/2013 starting at 10 AM with a viewing and services beginning at 11 AM at East Lawn Palms Mortuary, 5801 E. Grant Road-Tucson AZ. Arrangements entrusted to East Lawn Palms Mortuary & Cemetery.
