Ernesto "Shaggy" Benjamin Gonzales

Ernesto “Shaggy” Benjamin Gonzales age 38 passed away May 29, 2024. He was born February 5, 1986 in Corona, California to Maria Gonzales and Ramon Pena. He was the youngest of his mother’s children. He lived in Corona, California before moving to Douglas, Arizona. He was in a band and played guitar. He also helped his friends who were also in a band with there equipment in which he earned the nickname roadeye. He’s been called shaggy since he was a kid. He graduated from Douglas High School in 2004.

He then moved to Tucson, Arizona in 2015. He was an artist from a young age and was always drawing he started tattooing around 2016-17 at Unholy Ink. Then he began working at Old Towne Tattoo a few years later. Ernie loved listening to different types of music including Death metal, oldies, rap, etc. Ernie was very passionate in everything he did especially his career and loved drawing and tattooing more than anything. Ernie also loved traveling any chance he got. His dream was to have a place to call his own with a family and his only daughter and helping those in need. He is survived by his father Ramon Peña Sr. , his wife Yolanda Peña, his mother Maria Gonzales Perez, his daughter Iris Gonzales his girlfriend Morgan Hammond and his brothers Micheal Gonzales his wife Evelyn Jusiano their children Denisse Jusaino, Danitza Gonzales her boyfriend Adam Hernandez and their son Darian Gonzales Hernandez, Micheal Gonzales Jr. Ramon Peña Jr., his wife Regina Agcaoili-Peña, their children Juilliette Agcaoili-Peña, Tatianna Agcaoili-Peña and Ramon Peña III. Andrew Peña and Mark Peña. Also many other distant relatives.

A visitation for Ernesto will be held Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Desert Rose Heather Cremation & Burial, 1040 North Columbus Blvd, Tucson, AZ 85711.
