

Beloved mother, grandmother & great-grandmother , Estella Olson, passed away at 5:00 a.m. on February 12th. Born November 6, 1923 in Walsenburg, Colorado to Elisa and Presiliano (Pete) Martinez. Estella grew up in Nebraska where she attended a one-room country school. She attended Ogallala High School in 1938 and graduated from Paxton High School in 1942. The following year the family moved to Los Angeles, California where she worked making wooden aircraft gliders for the Army and also at Austin Studios. Right before the war she worked as a riveter at McDonald-Douglas. After the war she was employed by Dorothy O’Hara in the garment industry of Los Angeles and later employed by Helen of California. In 1947 she met and married Miguel A. Navarro. They had two children; Michael & Yvonne. The family moved to Calexico, California in 1960, and for several years also lived in Mexicali, Baja CA. In 1970 she and two partners opened a retail store “The Rag Doll” and also opened a Beauty Supply Store with one of the partners in Calexico, CA. After retirement she moved to Tucson , Arizona where she met and married Clayton Olson in 1999. They loved their 10 years of marriage before he passed away in 2010. She had many happy and humorous moments throughout her life and shared the memories with family and friends. She is survived by son Michael Navarro and his wife Carolina; daughter Yvonne Arballo and her husband Frank. Two grandchildren; Frank M. Arballo and Jennifer Arballo; and three great-grandchildren; Joaquin Rios, Michael Ray Arballo and Jacob Arballo.
