Federico C Gallego

Federico C Gallego, age 87, of Tucson, Arizona passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. He was born March 2, 1937 to Rosario M. Gallego and Jesus C. Gallego. Federico enjoyed spending time with family, taking trips to his beloved town of pitiquito, Sonora, going to the casino and spending time in his vegetable garden. He dedicated his entire life to the field of agriculture. At one point, he had his fingers severed in a cotton gin accident, when he was 20 years old. He worked the fields from sunup to sundown. A rancher's life was never 9-5. He would tend to 72 acres of wheat, corn and cotton. He loved every minute of it. His roots of pioneer family ran deep. The family homestead is where he lived until his peaceful death. Federico is survived by his spouse of 55 years, Martha V. Gallego; Children; Rosario Gallego and Alejandrina Santa Maria (Jesus Jr.) Grandchildren; Joseph F. Gamez (Monique) Luis C. LaMadrid III (Izamar Diaz) Marissa A. LaMadrid and Danielle G. Leyva (Victor) Great Grandchildren; Joseph F. Gamez Jr., Mia Grace Gamez, Aubrey Reyanna Campos, Isaiah Leyva and Sarrina Leyva. He is proceeded in death by his parents; Rosario M. Gallego and Jesus C. Gallego.

We would like to thank all friends and family, including Gentiva Hospice Services and last but definitely not least, Martha Torres, his caregiver whom had the patience of the world for him.

A visitation for Federico will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2024 from 5:30 PM to 10:00 PM at Funeraria del Angel South Lawn, 5401 South Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85706. A prayer service will occur Tuesday, March 26, 2024 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 5401 South Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85706. A funeral mass at saint monica roman catholic parish church will occur Wednesday, March 27, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Saint Monica Roman Catholic Parish Church, 212 W Medina Rd, Tucson, AZ 85756. A graveside at south lawn cemetery will occur Wednesday, March 27, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at South Lawn Cemetery, 5401 S Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85706.
