

Gerardo graduated from Tucson High School and attended Grand Canyon University, where he was pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. He worked as a Medical Assistant serving his community at El Rio Pascua, Pascua Yaqui Centered Spirit, the Tucson Indian Center, and San Xavier Medical Clinic. In his final six months, he worked alongside his father in his landscaping business.
Gerardo met the love of his life, Breanna Bracamonte, on February 14, 2007, and they married on August 24, 2010. He enjoyed art and drawing, movies, helping others, raising his chickens, starting a lemonade business for his boys (The Lemon Bros), and being a proud baseball dad.
Gerardo is survived by his wife, Breanna Castro; his children, Gerardo Castro Jr., Giulian Castro, and Gianna Castro; his parents, Laura Nunez (Gabriel Ortega) and Ramon Castro; his siblings, Gabriel Ortega Jr. (Urzula Ortega) and Laura Castro. He loved and was adored by his mother- and father-in-law, Cecilia and David Bracamonte; his cuñadas, Stephanie Loera (Hugo Loera) and Katrina Bracamonte (Omar Arzac); and his beloved nieces and nephews, Thalia, Kyhana, Nailea, Zayitza, Anaitza, Sarai, Andreya, Alyana, Sophia, Adrianna, Hugo, Aaden, Omar, and Theodore.
Gerardo will be remembered for his kind heart, creativity, and deep devotion to his family.
Gerardo Castro, de 36 años, nació el 10 de julio de 1989 en Tucson, Arizona, y falleció el 28 de diciembre de 2025. Fue un esposo amoroso, un padre dedicado y un hijo, hermano, tío y amigo muy querido.

Disfrutaba del arte y el dibujo, las películas, ayudar a los demás, cuidar de sus gallinas, iniciar un negocio de limonada para sus hijos (The Lemon Bros) y ser un orgulloso “papá de béisbol”.
Gerardo deja en duelo a su esposa, Breanna Castro; a sus hijos, Gerardo Castro Jr., Giulian Castro y Gianna Castro; a sus padres, Laura Núñez (Gabriel Ortega) y Ramón Castro; a sus hermanos, Gabriel Ortega Jr. (Urzula Ortega) y Laura Castro. Fue amado y admirado por sus suegros, Cecilia y David Bracamonte; sus cuñadas, Stephanie Loera (Hugo Loera) y Katrina Bracamonte (Omar Arzac); y sus queridas sobrinas y sobrinos, Thalia, Kyhana, Nailea, Zayitza, Anaitza, Sarai, Andreya, Alyana, Sophia, Adrianna, Hugo, Aaden, Omar y Theodore.
Gerardo será recordado por su corazón bondadoso, su creatividad y su profunda dedicación a su familia.
A visitation will be held on January 11, 2026, from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm at Funeraria del Angel South Lawn, located at 5401 South Park Ave, Tucson, AZ, 85706.
A second visitation is scheduled for January 12, 2026, from 8:00 am to 11:00 am at the External Service Location, 7500 S Camino Benem, Tucson, AZ, 85757.
The funeral service will take place on January 12, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at Cristo Rey Church, held at the same location.
The committal service will follow on January 12, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Holy Hope Cemetery, 3555 N Oracle Rd, Tucson, AZ, 85705.
