

Gil grew up the youngest of four brothers on New York’s Lower East Side and earned a BA in History at New York University. Gil met the love of his life, Nikki Kisch on a blind date in New York, and they married in 1957. After finishing his service in the Army, Gil and Nikki spent eleven months traveling through Europe, living on about $25 a week.
Gil worked as a copyrighter for the ad agency Ogilvy and Newsweek, before landing a position at Time Inc., where he spent several decades in the promotion departments of Fortune, People and Money magazines.
Gil was an avid tennis player, history buff and classical music enthusiast. His collection of poetry, Segments: Day by Day Thoughts, was published in 2024.
Survived by: daughter Erica Kisch, son Alex Kisch; son-in-law Dan Gallagher and daughter-in-law Judith Wolochow; grandchildren Taryn Kisch-Gallagher, Lucien Kisch and Mila Kisch, and several loving nephews, nieces and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at East Lawn Palms Mortuary in Tucson, Arizona on Sunday, November 11th at 12:00 PM
