GUY SPENCER EDWARDS passed away April 6, 2015, after battling cancer for more than a year. Born in Hobbs, NM, Sept. 4, 1936, he moved to Tucson with parents, Guy and Pauline Edwards and sister, Jan in 1953. Guy graduated from Tucson High, and later from an operating engineers and mechanic and welder apprenticeship program. He worked for Standard Oil in California, several construction companies in Tucson, Road Machinery Company for 20 years, and then owned and operated Edwards Machining and Manufacturing Company for 20 years before retiring.
Guy is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Wauneta Edwards, daughters Deanne Dunlap (Joe), Nancy Trimble (Charles), Debbie Steiner (Ted), grandchildren Tammy Garlick,
Trey Trimble, Braden Steiner, and great grandchildren Brenna Hickman and Arianna Garlick.
Guy had a very genuine sense of integrity, a fantastic memory, and a witty sense of humor. He was an avid reader and also loved fishing, boating, camping and crossword puzzles. He had a great appreciation for vintage cars and car shows. He could recall stories with great detail and make you feel like you were right there experiencing the same things he did. Friends and family will miss him greatly.
Donations can be made to TMC’s Peppi’s House. A memorial service will be scheduled and published at a later date.
