Ida's father Minter Harper and wife Margaret migrated from West Virginia in 1915 to New Mexico where they started a Homestead NW of Stanley New Mexico. Margaret was later stricken with typhoid fever and for health reasons they moved to Tucson in 1919 where Minter constructed a home with help of his sons that still stands today and where Ida was born. Ida was last born of ten children and only one of her family born in Arizona. In 2005 she had a massive stroke leaving her Wheelchair bound and paralyzed on her right side. She still managed a smile and was always happy to see family and friends.
