“ Hotdog Hillis”
Passed gently into that good night October 14, 2013, after a long illness.
He was granted his wish to be in the comfort of his own home as he
prepared for his next journey.
Jim was born in Johnson City, New York. Grew up & remained in and
around Binghamton & Endicott where he was employed by IBM thirty
plus years. Jim was a character in his own right. He worked part time
at the “Keg” tending bar, He loved it, to him it was like being center
stage he did not have the nickname “Hotdog” for no reason.
Jim retired from IBM in 1992. Moved to Tucson AZ where he remained.
He is survived by his wife, Shirlee, Her three children, Cheryl, Richard &
Aldon. His former wife Geraldine Vail, their three children James, Mark,
Daughter-in-law, Becky, and daughter Rita. He is preceded by his father Marcel, his mother Julia, his brother
William “Bill” and his long time friend Harry Herlbert Sr.
Jim remained true to himself in all of his endeavors.
To quote Sinatra, Jim did It “his way” good bad or indifferent.
