

Mr. West was born May 30, 1934 in Solo, Missouri to Archibald Benjamin and Emma Lucille West.
He was married to Nelda Joyce Yarbro, (1936-1991), from 1952 until her passing in 1991. He was married again to Winnie Ruth Welch, (1929-2018), in 1995 until her passing in 2018.
James had 3 children while married to Nelda and Winnie had one son of her own. He was also very proud of his 24 grand and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his 3 sons, James E. West, Jr. of Kansas City, Mo., Douglas Allen West of Tucson, Az. and Timothy Amos West of Texarkana, Tx. He is also survived by Winnie’s son, Ed Garner of Little River Academy, Tx.
Mr. West was a lifelong devoted Christian with the Church of Christ from a young age until his passing.
Mr. West served in the United States Air Force from 1952 until his retirement in 1976 as a Master Sergeant. During his service time, he was stationed in Japan, Alaska and Germany just to name a few. He also worked in Civil Service from 1978-1991.
Mr. West was an avid music lover and could play any instrument that had strings. He excelled on Guitar, Banjo, Fiddle and Steel Guitar and he also played with Tom T. Hall in a band while in the Air Force.
Mr. West was also an avid wood worker as he had his own shop in his backyard and enjoyed retired life building different items as well as traveling.
Burial will be at Southlawn Cemetary in Tucson, Az., next to Winnie Ruth West.
