Janis Ann Eichhorst

Janis Ann (Wehrman) Eichhorst passed away after a short illness on February 17, 2026, at the age of 88. Up to the end, she continued to show her strength and determination. She was born in Jasper, Minnesota. Her family moved to Tucson, Arizona, when she was young. Janis met her husband Don when she was attending Tucson High School.

Janis spent her working years at Pleasure Time Beverages and Hughes Aircraft/Raytheon where she retired. Janis loved to travel and took advantage of every opportunity. She enjoyed crocheting and volunteered at the library, teaching others to crochet. Janis spent countless hours doing arts and crafts and participating in craft fairs. She volunteered weekly for many years at Fountain of Life Church’s Braille project, assembling Bibles in Braille and large print. Janis was an avid reader and often read multiple books at a time. Her failing eyesight took away many of her favorite activities, but she adjusted with help from her loving family and friends. She began listening to books on tape, continued to volunteer making Bibles for the blind, and kept traveling.

Janis is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Lenora Wehrman; her husband, Don Eichhorst; two brothers, John and Joel Wehrman; a sister, Jean Wehrman; and a great-granddaughter, Hailey Aguilar.

She is loved and survived by her brother James (Jeannie) Wehrman; children Dawn (David) Aguilar, Bruce (Kathleen) Eichhorst, Daniel (Sharon) Eichhorst, and LuAnn Rouse; and grandchildren Kristina (Matthew) Smith, Jonathon (Kristen) Aguilar, Adam (Amanda) Rouse, Daryl Rouse, Michael (Melissa) Aguilar, Erin Rouse, Mathew Aguilar, Bryan Eichhorst, Samantha (Eric) Fontaine, and Nicole (Zachary) Cluey. She loved all of her grandchildren so much and was proud of their accomplishments. Janis talked about them often. She was honored to be called G.G.Ma by her thirteen great-grandchildren (with another on the way).
