Jerilyn Sue (Dunteman) Robinson, “Jeri”, was born on December 12, 1950 in Shelbyville, Illinois and went to be with the Lord on March 31, 2012, after an heroic battle with pancreatic cancer. She is survived by her husband, Don; son, Jason; daughter-in-law Melissa; grandchildren, Tyler, Lily, Tucker and brother, Edward Dunteman. She was preceded in death by her father, Vernon Eugene Dunteman and mother, Billie June Maurice.
Jeri grew up in San Diego and graduated from Kearny High School in 1969. She immediately enlisted in the Air Force and served for twenty years, retiring in the grade of Master Sergeant in 1989. For the last ten years of her career she served as a paralegal in the Air Force JAG Corps and was a Vietnam veteran. Her overseas assignments included Korat, Thailand, Kadena Air Base, Okinawa and Clark Air Base in the Philippines.
While at Clark Air Base she met her future husband, Don, who was an Air Force JAG officer.
After retirement Jeri was a law office manager for private firm and then managed her husband’s law practice after his retirement from the Air Force.
In 1993 she began a second career as a civil servant with the Defense Contract Management Agency within the Hughes/Raytheon Missile facility in Tucson, retiring in 2003.
Jeri and Don then moved to their beautiful cabin in rural West Virginia. Here Jeri found her passion for serving the Lord and became a faithful and inspirational leader in their country church.
In January 2006 Jeri was diagnosed with inoperable pancreatic cancer and given less than two years to live. Sixteen months later the Lord intervened and cleared her body of all traces of cancer. After this miraculous healing, Jeri and Don returned to Green Valley Arizona where Jeri dedicated her life to serving the Lord and her community.
Jeri was an incredible woman in so many ways. Her sweet spirit, energy, talent, courage, sense of humor, compassion and faithfulness truly blessed all those who had the privilege to work with her or call her “friend”. There was not another like her.
A celebration of Jeri’s life will be held on Saturday, April 7th at 10:00 at the First Assembly of God Church in Sahuarita. Pastor David Stowell will preside.
Flowers are welcome, however, in lieu of flowers a donation in Jeri’s memory can be sent to Friends Indeed, (www.fid-gv.org), to CaringBridge, (www.CaringBridge.org) or to Peppi’s House Hospice at Tucson Medical Center.
