

John Charles Ramsey was born on January 1, 1939 in Glendale, California to Charles I. Ramsey and Edith M. Ransom. John was raised by his father Charles I. Ramsey and Step-Mother June ( Bulette) Ramsey. John attended many schools due to his father’s naval career. He graduated from Santa Cruz High School. John joined the Navy in 1956. While stationed in Saigon, South Vietnam, he continued his training in journalism and broadcasting and served at the Armed Forces Radio Station as morning broadcaster. John left active duty in 1967 to go to college. He graduated in 1973 with a BA in Industrial Arts. John continued with the VA in Knoxville, Iowa and Houston, Texas from 1973-1993 as a manual arts therapist.
John married Linda Marie Wright on August 19, 1967 in San Diego, California. They loved and raised their two adopted sons, Mark and Jody Ramsey. Linda preceded John in death on May 5, 2005.
John met Carol A Spierling at Fellowship Square in Tucson and they were married on August 8, 2015 in Tucson, Arizona. John was active in Christian service at Rincon Baptist Church as a Sunday School teacher and narrator for musical programs there. He also enjoyed writing, photography and woodworking.
John is survived by his wife Carol of Tucson, sons Mark of Houston, Texas, Jody (Tina) of Tucson, grandson Logan of Tucson, sister Diane Jordinae of San Diego, California, brothers Jim Ramsey (Diane) of Missoula, Montana, Steve Bulette (Becky) of Elmo, Montana, Mike Ramsey (Wendy) of Missoula, Montana, and numerous nieces and nephews and special friends.
Pastor Gordon Vernon will be leading a military funeral service March 8, 2018 at Rincon Baptist Church at 7500 E. Golf Links Rd., Tucson. Viewing & Visitation from 10:00-10:30AM with services starting at 10:30. Burial at Houston National Cemetery in Houston Texas.
