John David Rooney

On December 26, 2023, John David Rooney, 72, died at St. Mary Hospital while accompanied by his wife and children. On March 27, 1951, John Rooney was born in Brooklyn, New York. John Rooney (Father) and Isabel Rooney (Mother) were his parents. He is survived by his wife (Rowena) children (Brian, John, Nico and Jona). During his time in New York, he attended LaGuardia College where he majored in Accounting and Sociology/Writing/Data Programming. He has also worked for Pan American Airlines in New York and New Jersey for 23 years. He relocated to Tucson, Arizona and began working for the Pima County Sheriff's Department. He retired from PCSD after 27 years of service.

John David Rooney is a Knight of Columbus member. John and his wife (Rowena) became a members of Philippine Mabuhay Cultural Foundation of Tucson (PMCFT) in 2016, and he later became President from 2019 to 2021. Every weekend, John and his friends would go golfing. He was recognized for being funny, kind, and humorous. He was a man of honor and integrity.

A visitation for John will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at East Lawn Palms Mortuary, 5801 East Grant Road, Tucson, AZ 85712. A funeral mass will occur Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 1946 E Lee St, Tucson, AZ 85719.
