It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Josephine (Fina) M Carrillo. She passed on peacefully at the age of 71 surrounded by her family on July 19, 2025. She was born in Tubac AZ and graduated from Sahuarita High School. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, educator and friend. She was married to Manuel Carrillo for 32 years. She worked for and retired from the State of Arizona, for over 15 yrs. She then returned to school at the UofA and received her Bachelor’s in teaching, then continued her education and received her Master's from Grand Canyon University. Josephine began teaching and retired from Sunnyside Unified School District as a Kindergarten teacher at Elvira for over 20 years. She loved her students and touched many lives in an impactful way. Josephine was an important pillar of her community. She was a resilient, resourceful and strong woman. She always put her family before herself and went above and beyond in all her endeavors. She took great pride in seeing her children grow into loving parents. Josephine was admired for her calm spirit, her beautiful smile, and her unwavering devotion to her loved ones. Proceeded in death by grandparents, Jesus and Theresa Martinez, mother Teresa Franco, father Gilberto Jimenez, many aunts and uncles, and brother William (Memo) Jimenez. She is survived by her husband Manuel Carrillo, children Kathy Duarte-Grijalva, Stephanie Higuera, Gabriel (Jennifer) Ortega and adopted son Marcos (Angela) Ortega. Grandchilden Ayliandra Grijalva, Brissa Grijalva, Ireivy Grijalva, Krishna Higuera, Ylana Higuera, Rhiannon Rodriguez and Gabriel Ortega. Great granddaughter Aireani Reid. Stepfather Frank Franco, beloved aunt Eva Valdez, siblings Minerva Gomez, Marisela Nunez, Brenda Dabdoub, Christina (Larry) Ramirez, Frank (Michael) Franco Jr, Ana (Salvador) Vasquez, Maria Mercedes (Tony) Porter and Luz Jimenez. Many cousins, nieces and nephews. We will miss her dearly but she will live forever in our memories, thoughts and hearts.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 9th, 2025 12-3 pm at South Lawn.
Rosary 12:30-1pm
Mass 1-2pm
Celebration of Life immediately following at South Lawn.
