Joyce L Hanke

Joyce LaVerne Hanke, 72, of Tucson, AZ passed away peacefully on February 18, 2023, surrounded by loved ones at her home. Joyce grew up in Cincinnati and moved to Tucson in 1974. Joyce will be dearly missed and always remembered. Joyce was predeceased by her parents, Vernon and Carolyn Hanke, her brothers Ron Hanke and Timothy Hanke and her nephew Nicholas McGlone. She is survived by her husband Daniel Geyer, her son, Matthew Voss, his wife Amy and their children Tristan and Konrad Voss, her daughter Heather Ward, her husband Justin and their children Justin, Gabrielle and Savannah Ward, Great Grandchildren Adonnia, Alondra, Yesenia, Remy and Kenji Fernando and her siblings Jenny Pitteroff, Kathy Combs, Mark Hanke and Judy McGlone as well as many nieces and nephews. Joyce had a wonderful sense of humor that she retained until her last days. Joyce loved the desert and would take long drives to admire the beautiful sunsets and listen to her favorite music. She battled cancer 13 years ago and won. Her strength and perseverance were admirable as she overcame many health struggles, still with a smile and a laugh. Joyce requested cremation and a celebration of life to be held in her honor as opposed to traditional funeral services. We request that all who loved Joyce join us for the celebration in late March.
