She was born on April 21, 1939 in Indianapolis, Indiana to William and Mary Katherine Pyle and was the eldest of 6 children.
She served 2 years in the US Women's Army Corps (WACS), from 1958 until 1960 at Fort Dix, New Jersey. It was there that she met the love of her life, 1st Sergeant George Weber at the NCO Club where she worked as a hat check girl. They married on June 25, 1960, and lived out their lives together until his passing in 2013.
Katherine worked mostly as a homemaker and focused on raising her children. Previously she had worked for United Artists in Philadelphia and Just Born Candy Company of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. When her daughters got a little older, she worked for Ventana Canyon Resort in Tucson, Arizona. Once her husband passed, she kept herself busy providing care to the elderly at Comfort Keepers where she remained employed until 2021.
She loved to watch old black and white movies, listening to recordings of 1940's radio shows, and playing her Glenn Miller and Tommy Dorsey Big Band records and tapes. She enjoyed watching Dancing with the Stars, the Golden Girls, and was an avid news watcher. She also loved sports, especially the Chicago Cubs.
But above all, she enjoyed and loved her family. She was always worried about everyone else and never about herself. Her main concern was that everyone she loved had what they needed or wanted, even if that meant she went without.
When her kids were young and George was working, Katherine would bravely load everyone up in her Chevy Impala every summer and travel across the country to visit grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. These special times spent in Indiana, Pennsylvania, Ohio and New Jersey created wonderful memories for her daughters that are forever etched in their hearts and minds.
Her admirable strength, selflessness and love will be missed by all who knew her.
Katherine was predeceased by her devoted husband George John Weber, her parents, sisters Judith Mullins, Barbara Stewart, and Beverly Meehan, and nephews Jerry and Vincent Brattain. She is survived by her 4 daughters Laurie Wepfer, Katherine Thompson, Dawn Markve, and Jaime Weber; grandchildren Frank Ruggirello (Carrie), Christina Castillo (Melina), Michael Thompson (Tiare), Christopher Thompson (Yvonne), Garrett Markve (Sarah), and Jordan Markve; great-grandchildren Hannah, Knox, Via, Elouise, Vivian, Everett, and Gwendolyn; sister Mary Keener (Leroy) of Willoughby, Ohio, brother William Pyle of Tampa, Florida, as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Until our Lord Jesus returns, Katherine Lee Weber rests peacefully in the hands of God. She will be interred at Eastlawn Palms in Tucson, Arizona following a private family service.
