03/20/34 – 10/10-14
On Friday, Oct. 10, 2014, Katy Lou Andrews, age 80, passed away while surrounded by loved ones in Tucson, Arizona.
Katy was born on March 20, 1934 outside of Sante Fe, New Mexico in the town of Roy. Katy was the daughter of James and Juanita Burgess with three siblings: James Burgess (deceased), Billie Hamlet and Sharry Biediger.
Katy was survived by her husband of 37 years, Richard “Dick” Andrews, her sisters Billie and Sharry and her children Vicky (Joe) Bockting, Deborah (Tony) Marconato, her grandchildren Tony (Angie) Marconato, Eric (Jaime) Marconato, Tricia (Earl) Montgomery, Danny (Teri) Bockting and her six great grandchildren Dakota, Domenic, Owen, Scout, Makaela, Evan, and of course her beloved dog Honeybear.
Katy had a big heart and was loved by many. A social butterfly, she was always helping others and developing new friendships with neighbors, members of her church and just about anyone she crossed paths with. Katy had a love of jewelry, sweets, pretty things, a tidy home, dogs and mostly her family. She was a loving wife, a proud mother and an adored “Meme,” what she was affectionately called by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Katy was a devout Christian and a member of Tucson Baptist Temple. She will be missed very much by all.
In honor of Katy’s wishes, a private graveside service will be held at East Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tucson Humane Society, one of Katy’s favorites organizations.
Arrangements under the direction of East Lawn Palms Mortuary, Tucson, AZ.
