

Keith Bauman 76, was taken from this life to be with his Heavenly Savior on Tuesday, September 20, 2011. He and his wife, Joanne moved to Tucson in 1992, where they have known full and active lives and celebrated a 50th wedding Anniversary on July 7, 2007. During their life in Tucson, Keith was active as one of the Co-Founders for the Alumni Group, Southern Arizonans for Nebraska and served as President for a number of years. He has been very active in his Church, Tanque Verde Lutheran, and served as President of the Church Council for two of those years. He helped create several fundraisers for the Nausin Family Life Center and helped out whenever he was needed or called upon. He helped little children learn to read through bi-weekly sessions with one of the local groups. He delivered "Meals on Wheels" for a time. He loved the mountains and spent many years hiking in Sabino Canyon. He enjoyed close to perfect health for 70 years! He was a fine golfer and played with his group of close friends for a number of years. Keith Gary Bauman was born in Norfolk, Nebraska, on June 28, 1935. He grew up in Hoskins, NE and in Luverne, Minnesota, returning to Nebraska to finish high school and to attend and graduate from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1957. That summer he was married to Joanne Elizabeth Bender who also graduated from the University, College of Arts & Science in 1958. After two years in the U.S. Army he was stationed at Sandia Base, Albuquerque, NM. After the service he joined Combined Insurance Co. of America when he pursued a 22 year career in sales, sales director and regional director, winning many awards along the way. A good portion of his career- life was at the home office in Chicago, under founder and creator, W. Clement Stone. The Baumans moved to Chicago in 1964, then to Dallas, Texas where Keith had his own "Southern Branch", then back to Chicago in 1974, where he and Joanne finished raising four children, Mark (Woodstock, IL), Janis from Oconomowoc, WI, Gerald also in IL and Randal of Pleasanton, CA. The couple has ten grandchildren. Keith and Joanne have traveled both with Combined Insurance and to Europe, Great Britain, Greece, Rome, and Athens. This long lasting union between Keith and Joanne can only be attributed to the grace of God. Visitation will be held at EAST LAWN PALMS CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd., on Friday, September 23, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Tanque Verde Lutheran Church, 8625 E. Tanque Verde Rd., on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 1:00 p.m.
