Keith Sutterley’s big heart had room for everyone, and in return he was loved by all. Born and raised in Tucson, he graduated Tucson High School in 1969, attended the University of Arizona and—loyal to the bone—he kept in touch with classmates until the end. His UofA season tickets for football spanned over four decades, and he rarely missed a game.
Keith considered himself the most fortunate of men. He got to marry Sue, the love of his life, and raise four loving and kind children, who continue his legacy of success and achievement in Arizona. He welcomed their spouses, past and present, as if they were his own children. The greatest joy of his life were the people who called him “Papa”: his eleven wonderful, beautiful grandchildren. Keith loved them all with every cell of his being and never missed a dance or choir recital, tennis or soccer match, baseball game or Airsoft battle. His love of life extended to feathers and fur, and he devoted much of every week to stewardship of his tiny home farm. (Note to close friends: keep the scraps coming.)
Keith owned and operated the Merry Maids cleaning franchises in Tucson for over thirty years. The business not only supported his family and philanthropy, it brought him great joy. By nature, he was “Mr. Fix-It”, a man who took pleasure in opening up any sort of machine and making it better, both on the home farm and in the company headquarters. It is no small consolation that he passed while joyfully engaged in tinkering with a minor repair job. He was making it better once again.
Preceded in death by his father, brother, nephew and, most recently, his beloved mother. In lieu of flowers, his family suggests donations to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society:

His story will be a permanent reminder for all who knew and loved him —
…to live out loud
…to give all you can
…and always remember to smile. (Because if you don’t, Keith will find a way to make you smile!)
