Laura Anne Lamb, 62, of Tucson, AZ, lost her 10 year battle with cancer on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. "The lows and the highs. The small victories and the losses, and you hit it head on every minute and everyday...10 years. Love is strong and can be so giving but, also break you. Today you are stopping the war and choosing peace. I pray that you find it and that I see you soon. But not before making you proud and finishing what we've started. We will always be partners, mom and son, wanderlust, and the best of friends. I love you so much and will never stop"-Danny
Laura was born on January 3, 1963 in Dallas, Texas, adopted at age 7 weeks to Owen Brice Lamb and Helen Claire Lamb. She is survived by her wife Sheryl "Sheri" Swanson, daughter Adrianna "Andi" (Jeremy) Nieft of McHenry, Illinois and son Daniel "Danny" (Michelle) Lamb of Tucson, Arizona, grandchildren Madison, Morgan, Charles "Charlie" and Madelyn "Maddie" and mother Helen Lamb, sisters Deborah "Debbie" (Susan), Ginger (David), brother Chris (Liz), and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. She was preceded in death by father Owen Brice Lamb, biological father Roy Frank and biological mother Linda Hoffman Frank.
After a short time living in Dallas, Laura and her family moved around to States like New Jersey and Virginia and eventually settling in Illinois where she spent her early days and teenage years. She loved reminiscing about her high school years at Deerfield High where she met many life long friends and ate, OFTEN, at her favorite local eatery Tony's Subs where she would indulge in "The Best f****** Sandwiches Ever". She was wanderlust, loved traveling the world, having new adventures, and meeting new people.
Laura's pride and joy was her family. Whether traveling with her family to exotic places like Greece, Bora Bora, Half Moon Bay in the Bahamas, Punta Cana or simply having stay-cations at her home with loved ones, she always made things extra special like having the 'littles' make homemade root beer or diving for silver dollars in the pool, or putting them to sleep with her special "magic milk".
Laura loved her music and pottery. She was always excited to introduce her favorite bands to loved ones such as Queen, Janis Joplin, The Grateful Dead, James Taylor, Styx, Rush, The Marshall Tucker Band, The Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, Jackson Brown, Carly Simon, Arlo Guthrie, Billy Joel, KD Lang, Taylor Swift, just to name a few. Her love for music continues to live in her son and granddaughters. In Laura's late twenties, she found her love of pottery under the teachings of fellow potter Collis. Laura's creative side produced some of the most beautiful and unique pottery pieces which she loved to share with the public and loved ones.
In 1997, Laura began building a successful business with her wife and son and prided herself with offering services to the local community. It all began with a small brown Ford Ranger which slowly morphed into The Girls' Estate Sales and consignment store. The commitment to her clients to provide the best services at such difficult crossroads in their lives, kept her dedicated year after year. Laura's work ethic and business smarts laid the foundation for what it is today.
We will always be able to see her, in wildflowers on the side of the road, tie dye shirts, or adding sparks of flare at the cashier counter. You can feel her in listening to classic rock on the radio, or looking at any situation, half full. She found the silver lining in any situation, and seized the opportunity.
A private celebration of life will be held. Condolences can be sent to 'The Girls Estate Sales' 330 S. Wilmot, Tucson, AZ 85711 c/o Sheryl Swanson or Daniel Lamb.
