Laura Dawn McRee

age 58 passed away on December 23,2019 at home in Tucson, Arizona after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on December 4, 1961 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late William and Mary Szoke. Loving sister to the late Billy and Kathy. Also sister of Ed, Lynn Cosgriff , Patty Bonezzi(husband Joe) and loving nephews and nieces.

“Dr. Laura Dawn McRee was a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Arizona College of Nursing where she had served as faculty for 20 years. Dr. McRee was a certified acute care nurse practitioner who provided compassionate care to patients with critical illnesses. Laura was a creative educator. She developed simulation experiences for undergraduate students long before simulated learning was an integral part of clinical education, and she invented the Bed Sled, an exercise device she created to mitigate the adverse effects of bed rest and other mobility limitations. She was a well-respected and caring mentor to many undergraduate and graduate nursing students in her long-standing and accomplished academic career.

Laura loved her pets Toby, Coco, Sid and Romeo and was a strong advocate for animal affairs.”
