In recent years, Leon was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease but being the eternal optimist that he was, it was not uncommon to see him around the neighborhood riding his bicycle, having lunch with friends, spending time with family, enjoying his favorite snack (gummy bears), or listening to his favorite band Earth, Wind, and Fire.
Leon is survived by his sister Christina Diaz (Michael), niece Erin Williams (Dean), niece Kendal Jones (Mike), great nephew Naoki Edmondson, and a host of family and friends.
A celebration of life for Leon will be Friday, July 1, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. In his final act of giving to others, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made on behalf of Leon to the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center c/o Barrow Neurological Institute, 350 West Thomas Road, Phoenix, AZ 85013.
