

She Attended public school and graduated from Flint Hill High School, Palestine, Texas in June 1945.
Loraine confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized. She attended Phillip Chapter and Antioch Baptist Church of Palestine, Texas before relocating to Tucson, Arizona in 1952.
Loraine quickly joined Mount Calvary Baptist Church. She found great joy singing in the choir, serving on the Nurses Guild, and Mission Ministry. She was instrumental in molding many young minds and hearts while working at the church Daycare Center. Many lifelong attachments were established as she worked. She was known as “Miss Nahwood” and was affectionately loved by all.
She continued serving the community through her local PTA and neighborhood watch. Loraine also worked as a district representative, actively advocating for change in the city. In her private time, she enjoyed fishing, gardening, and watching Young and the Restless.
While in Tucson, Loraine met and married Nathaniel Norwood of Muldrow, Oklahoma. To this union six children were born. Having two sons prior to her marriage gave them a total of eight children.
On October 22, 2021 the Lord called Loraine home. She will be remembered as a daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mom, grandmother, great grandmother, and most important as a woman of God.
Loraine leaves to mourn her 8 children David Joe, Reginald Joe, Gloria Tomlin, Cassandra Webb, Joyce Norwood, James Norwood, Andre Norwood (Catherine) and Barbara Norwood, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She will be missed by them all.
