

Louise Lewis, 95, of Tucson, AZ, passed away peacefully Friday, April 29, 2016. Louise was born and raised in N. Tonawanda, NY, the youngest of fourteen brothers and sisters. In 1951, she met and married Donald Lewis, who served in the USAF. In 1969, the family was transferred to Germany. Louise and Don traveled with their three children through many European countries including Spain, Greece, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Norway, and Denmark; where many family memories were made. Louise was very talented and blessed with many gifts. She had the ability to play an instrument by ear. She especially liked playing the piano and harmonica. She was very artistic and could draw about anything, she loved to repurpose things even before it became a trend, she was an amazing seamstress and reweaver. She also enjoyed sewing, cooking and bowling. She was an advocate of good nutrition and walked ten miles a day up till the age of 75. She raised her children to know Jesus and lived by example of how we should live our lives. She participated in church activities, the Easter Seals Foundation, and helped in other organizations; when needed. Following her husband's retirement in 1981, they traveled the United States extensively for a few years; before settling in Tucson. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She had a great sense of humor and whit. Later in life she enjoyed reading her Bible, bird watching and completing word searches. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald; identical twin sons, John and Jonathan; and daughter, Deborah Jean. Survived by daughters Laura Lewis-Wilson of Arlington, TX and Janine Boyles of Anchorage, AK; grandchildren Benjamin and James Rogers of Tucson; Jennifer Harbin of Arlington, TX and great grandson Eli Jon Harbin and other loving extended family members and treasured long time neighbors and friends. At our mother's request, no funeral will be held. Her committal will be at East Lawn Cemetery, Monday, May 16, 2016 at 9:30 AM; followed by a Celebration of Life Memorial Service, at Fountain of Life Lutheran Church at 11:00 AM. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to The American Heart Association, The American Diabetes Association, Easter Seals Foundation, or Food for the Poor.
