October 9, 1950 – October 20, 2022
Lynn M Walsh, of Tucson, passed away at the age of 72 in October 2022, following prolonged illness. She lived, worked, and made her home in Arizona for nearly 45 years.
Born in Minnesota to the late Frank and Margaret Walsh, she was a daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend. She grew up along the shores of Chautauqua Lake in Maple Springs New York, graduated from Maple Grove High School in Bemus Point, and earned an associate degree from Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston Massachusetts.
Having enjoyed a diverse life-long career, she lived and worked in Boston, Western New York, and the Florida Keys. After moving to Arizona in the late 1970’s, she worked in various capacities and locations, mainly as secretary, administrative assistant, and as an airline reservationist, until her retirement in 2016. She also operated a private word process business.
A private, free-spirited, independent, intelligent woman, she had a distinctive flair for life and a memorable sense of humor. Those who knew her well appreciated her candor, impeccable taste, and style. A talented artist, she enjoyed traveling, photography, music, television, movies, cooking, and the study of mineralogy and more. Always eager to learn, she was in constant search of information, especially regarding health issues, answers, and healing.
Her sister, Karen Walsh of Bemus Point, an uncle and aunt in Minnesota, several cousins, and good friends survive her across the country. Beloved family, friends, and pets Chi Chi & Bear, preceded her in death.
Her sister Karen would like to express her sincere appreciation to the Arizonans, most especially the good and gracious Tucsonans, who have helped her since Lynn’s passing and who continue to do so.
“On behalf of Lynn’s family, I extend heartfelt, profound gratitude to those who were present and who touched Lynn’s life, as well as those who have been present following her passing; those who generously and patiently helped my sister in some way during her lifetime: advisors, co-workers, first aid responders, friends, handy and service workers, home helpers, local establishments she frequented, neighbors, physicians, professionals, wellness check police officers and the kind strangers who instantly extended a helping hand when it was most needed.
You have made a difference in our lives by being part of Lynn’s life; your presence and kindness is recognized and will always be remembered.” As John F. Kennedy once said, “We must find time to stop and thank the people who make a difference in our lives.”
