With full hearts and fond memories, we say goodbye to Marylou O'Neill Dillabough, Tucson, AZ. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a woman who loved big, laughed loud, and never passed up a good deal at a garage sale.
Born on June 10, 1940, in Bronx NY, Marylou carried that classic New Yorker spirit with her wherever she went. Her strong accent, unmistakable laugh, and bright smile made her one of a kind. She met the love of her life, Milton "Butch" Dillabough, in the summer of 1959, and from the moment they got together, their lives were filled with love, laughter, and the beautiful chaos of raising five kids.
Marylou had a knack for finding the best bargains, a soft spot for her many dogs over the years, and an endless supply of bubble gum for her grandkids. Whether she was out hunting for treasures at garage sales, cracking jokes, or taking the grandkids out to the lake, she knew how to make even the simplest moments special.
She is preceded in death by her daughters, Nancy Christine Sinclair and Carrie Ann Ahles; grandson, Christopher Sinclair; parents, William and Margaret O'Neill; brother, Robert O'Neill; and sisters, Margaret Ann McInerny and Jane Ellen Nash.
She leaves behind her husband and partner of over 64 years, Butch, Tucson, AZ and her children, Mary Kay (Bernie) Sauer, MN; Cathy (Richie) Dohoney, AZ; and Harry (Chelle) Dillabough, CO; Son in law, Rob Ahles, MN; her sister, Teresa Aabel, SC; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren, (#17, coming Summer
2025) all of whom were lucky enough to be on the receiving end of her love, wisdom, and legendary sense of humor. Many nieces and nephews along with her in-laws: Cleo and Paul Dillabough, AZ; Marilyn and Danny Dillabough, MN; Susan and Dennis Thompson, CO; Delilah and Charlie Dillabough, MN.
Marylou lived life with open arms and a full heart, and though she's no longer here, the stories, the laughs, and the love she gave will live on in all of us. She'll be deeply missed, but we know she's somewhere up there, catching up with loved ones and probably haggling over a yard sale price. Blessed be the memory of Mary Lou Dillabough.
