After a long illness Myra Jean (Petey) Periale passed away on January 28, 2022 at TMC Hospice, Tucson, Arizona. She was ninety years of age. Petey was born and grew up in Spring Lake, New Jersey and graduated from Asbury Park High School in 1949. She graduated from Ann May School of Nursing at Fitken Hospital, now Jersey Shore Medical Center, as a registered nurse. She went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree and Masters Degree from Kean University where she majored in geriatric nursing. She worked for many years as a psychiatric nurse. Beside her work as an RN, she was an accomplished collage artist. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, James G. Periale, their four children, Andrew Periale (Bonnie), Judith Periale, Susan Periale McCarthy (Bart), Lisa Periale Martin (Bill), and grandchildren Tess McCarthy and Aurora Martin-Periale. Petey was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Tucson for the past 22 years. A memorial service will be arranged for at a future date.
