

Born on June 26, 1935, in Carroll County, IN. She was called home to heaven as 2024 was coming to a close on December 31st. in Tucson, Az.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Lee Barnes, parents Den and Jo Wilcox, brother Roger, grandson Daniel Ware, Son-in-Law Rudy Valencia, and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Nancy is survived by her loving family members daughters Connie (Eddie) Diaz, Carole Valencia, And Cheryl (Don) Barnes-Ware; Granddaughters Lucrecia, Ashleigh, Denise; Sons-in-laws Eddie Diaz and Don Ware; Cousins Bev Marvel and Betty Shoemaker and many more.
Her life was marked by the love of Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior, and love of her family, generosity, and commitment to serving others.
Nancy made friends for life beginning with classmates from Amphi High and Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing. When possible, she attended reunions and was delighted listening to friends’ current events. Nancy had so much fun at the lunches at the Golden Corral, catching up with friends from the VA.
Nancy retired as a CCRN, working in Ambulatory Surgery at the VA Hospital in Tucson. She was blessed to work with the Highest quality fellow nurses and volunteers. The friendships that she made there meant the world to her.
In her retirement, Nancy particularly enjoyed her time being Missionary President at Cactus Community Church. Also in her retirement she enjoyed cheering on the UofA Wildcats football and basketball teams along with other college teams.
Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday January 14, 2025 at 3:00pm at East Lawn Palms Mortuary & Cemetery, 5801 E Grant Road. The service will be officiated by Pastor Ray Wardlaw.
