Nancy Wilson

With much love and deep sorrow we mourn the passing of Nancy Pekny Wilson on May 2nd, 2025, after a lengthy illness while living with her daughter in Tucson, AZ. Nancy will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Natalie R. Wilson, daughter-in-law, Nicole Stansbury, sisters, Betty Johnson and Carrie Romeo, her dogs, Winnie and Maggie, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lu and Joyce (Hjorth) Pekny. Nancy was born in El Paso, TX. She graduated from Kwajalein High School in the Marshall Islands then attended the University of Nebraska, graduating from Lincoln School of Commerce. Nancy retired as Finance Director after 30 years with Renal Associates, PA/Provident Medical Practice Management, LLC. After which, she devoted her time to caring for her father until he passed in 2022. During the winter of 2020-2021, she survived lung cancer with the support of her family. In October 2023, she moved to Arizona to be closer to her daughter. Nancy loved Christmas, her celebrations often started in early November when she began watching A Christmas Carol/Scrooge movies, of which she had over two dozen versions! She also loved decorating for the holidays and making our family dishes, including her famous divinity fudge. She joined her parents in their love of dachshunds in 1992 when she got her first dachshund puppy, and since then she’s never been without a wiener dog by her side. She often visited her daughter, in California and Arizona many times. Anywhere she went she was up for a good wine tasting tour or farmer’s market visit. Though she was particular to the Stahlman’s farmer’s stand in Bear Creek. In Arizona, she enjoyed going to events by the local taiko group, Odaiko Sonora, and found joy attending other quintessential Tucson events such as Tucson Meet Yourself, Tucson Gem and Mineral Show, and Chilin’ at the Chul at Tohono Chul Botanical Gardens.

Two memorial gatherings celebrating her life and the impact she had on our hearts will be held in places close to her and hers.
