Nick was born on March 7, 1994, in Plano, Texas, the second of four children of Brian and Lisa Norwood. He spent his early years in Texas before moving to Wichita, Kansas, and then returned to Texas, where he grew up in Katy. Nick graduated from Mayde Creek High School in 2012 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Technology from the University of Houston in 2016.
He excelled in his chosen profession, working for leading companies in Houston before moving to Tucson in 2017. For the past eight years, Nick worked at Raytheon, where he thrived in cybersecurity and earned his Master of Science in Cybersecurity from the University of Arizona in 2020. Earlier this year, he and his colleagues were awarded a patent for a system they created. Nick was so talented with computers and cybersecurity that, as his family lovingly says, even God needed his help and called him up early.
Beyond his professional achievements, Nick was loved by all for his compassion, thoughtfulness, and quick wit, and he had a special bond with his cat, Bella, who thought he hung the moon. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, maternal grandparents, his Uncle Jamie, his dogs Emily and Jade, and his cat Jasmine – who no doubt are overjoyed to be reunited with him.
Nick is survived by his parents, Brian and Lisa, and his brothers, Matt (and his wife, Jamie), Will, and Alex, as well as his beloved nieces, Riley and Hailey.
A memorial service followed by a reception honoring Nick’s life will be on Friday, September 19, 2025, at 2:00 PM at East Lawn Palms, 5801 E. Grant Rd., Tucson, AZ 85712. A second memorial service, followed by a reception, will be held at Forest Lawn, 4955 Pine St., Beaumont, TX 77703, on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at 11 am.
