Norma was born March 22, 1932 to Howard and Irmgard (Roberts) Collins in Huntington Park, California. She moved to Tucson in the mid-50’s to look for adventure. She worked at a “dude” ranch until she was introduced by a mutual friend to Harry Landwerlen. They were married and moved to his ranch on the southeast side of Tucson where they raised their children and two acres of produce which the whole family sold door to door in city neighborhoods. Later, she worked for many years at Furr’s Cafeteria and had been retired for the last 20. She loved reading books and playing Bingo. Norma was feisty and there are lots of funny Grandma Norma storied out there. Above all, she loved celebrating birthdays and Christmas with her huge family. She was a big child at heart.
There will be a public viewing on Saturday, August 17th from 9:00am-10:30 at East Lawn Palms Mortuary, 5801 E. Grant Rd., with the funeral service and interment to follow. The service will be presided over by our family pastor of over 30 years, Rev. Lyle Pettit. Following the service, there will be a celebration of Norma’s life for family and friends held at Strauss Manor, 370 N. Pantano Rd.
