

Peggy passed away peacefully on July 30, 2016 at the age of 85. She was born August 16, 1930 to Roy and Flora Nelson, growing up in Adrian, MO until her family moved to Bonner Springs, KS. There she met the love of her life, Jimmy Wiggins at Bonner Springs High School. She was a cheerleader and he was the quarterback. They were married May 21, 1949 for 62 years until Jimmy's death in 2011.
Preceded in death by Jimmy, her sons Jimmy Ray and Alan, her parents and five siblings. Survived by her daughters, Alicia Mercer, Alaine Livermore and Annette Nanini, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Peggy and Jimmy moved to Tucson in 1967 where she worked 28 years as an Administrative Assistant to the Director of Kitt Peak National Observatory. After retirement they went on many cruises and trips traveling the world and were fanatic U of A fans being season ticket holders for 25 years for both basketball and football games.
Peggy was an outgoing, strong-willed and loving person, sang and tap danced, sang in the choir, clogged and lived life to the fullest. Family was very important to her and she enjoyed celebrating all special occasions and holidays with them. She was the last of the Nelson immediate family and will be missed very much by all that knew and loved her.
A Visitation will be on Friday, August 5 at 10:00 AM, followed with a Funeral Service at 11:00 at East Lawn Palms Mortuary; 5801 E. Grants Rd.
